Highly marbleized Addison Model 5 'Courthouse' catalin radio in dark green cabinet with bright yellow trim. This is a magnificent + exquisitely crafted stately Art Deco radio. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the 'Courthouse' or 'Large' Addison. Even though this radio's color is often described as black with yellow swirl, they are in fact dark green with yellow swirls.
The catalin has a deep shine, rich color, glow and also has exceptionally striking light yellow and green tone marbleizing that add dimension to the radio. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Addison model.
This beautiful and glossy example is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The five light yellow vertical grill bars are original as are the three pinwheel knobs. The grill cloth is original and displays only a small amount of wear while retaining its original greenish tone. Beautiful green reverse painted dial glass is original to the radio and in great condition. Water-slide decal is a correct replacement. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition.
This stately radio measures approximately: 12.5" Wide by 9" High by 7" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
