Beautiful incredibly marbleized oxblood red case and yellow trim Catalin Addison Model 5 is a magnificent, exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the 'Courthouse' or 'Large' Addison.
The catalin has a deep shine, rich color and glow and also has exceptionally striking yellow marbleizing that look like veins of fire running through the cabinet. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Addison model.
This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The five butterscotch vertical grill bars are original as are the three pinwheel knobs. The radio retains its original dark brown reverse painted dial glass also in excellent condition. The grill cloth is original and has only a small amount of wear consistent with age. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is absolutely stunning and would make a fantastic addition to a collection.
This stately radio measures approximately: 12.5" Wide by 9" High by 7" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete; cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
