Great Set of Three Addison Courthouse Radios
Complete set of the Catalin Addison 'Courthouse' radios in the only three colors ever available. Here is your chance to add prime examples of all three colors of the 'Courthouse' radio to your collection. Set includes the oxblood red with yellow, pistachio with maroon and, dark green/black with yellow. The Addison Model 5 is an exquisitely crafted and stately Art Deco radio, truly magnificent. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the 'Courthouse' or 'Large' Addison. All three radios have a deep shine to their catalin cabinets, rich color, glow, and exceptionally striking marbleizing. The radios are in all-original, untouched condition, and just stunning examples of this Addison model. These radios are in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The five butterscotch vertical grill bars + three pinwheel knobs on each radio are original and perfect. The grill cloths are also original to each radio + have no tears or stains with only a small amount of wear. This is a remarkable set of radios in excellent condition. Reverse painted dial glass' are exact replacements. Each radio measures approximately: 12.5" Wide by 9" High by 7" Deep. Chassis' seem complete but radios are not working. Addison Catalin radio Model 5 in striking marbleized Pistachio cabinet with Plum trim. This is a magnificent + exquisitely crafted stately Art Deco radio. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the "Courthouse" or "Large" Addison. Pistachio catalin was only used by four radio manufacturers of the time and is therefore an uncommon find. The bright pistachio catalin cabinet has a deep shine, rich color, glow and also has exceptionally, orange, brown, clear + white marbleizing that add dimension to the radio. The radio is original and is just a stunning example of this Addison model. This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The five maroon vertical grill bars are original as are the three matching pinwheel knobs. The radio retains its original green reverse painted dial glass also in excellent condition with only slight signs of age. The grill cloth is original and has no tears or stains + has only a small amount of wear. Retains original manufacturers paper label on bottom. Stunning Alabaster White with Bright Red Catalin Addison 2 tube radio made circa 1940 by Addison Industries Limited in Canada. The unique styling and bold use of color would make this radio a truly beautiful addition to any collection. This stylized Art Deco radio features the famous "waterfall" speaker grill trim and surround "bumpers" with speed-lines that really make for a streamlined radio design. It is one of the most striking color combinations for a catalin radio. The white alabaster catalin cabinet is highlighted by faint clear + white marbleizing that adds depth to the cabinet. The alabaster cabinet is highlighted with its contrasting bright red trim. The radio is just a stunning example of this Catalin Addison model. The glossy Catalin cabinet is in excellent condition with chips, cracks or repairs. The beautiful lightly marbleized cabinet only has an interior stress line visible by transparency on the right edge of the case that in no way detracts from the radio's rarity. The Bright Red Catalin trim is complete and factory original to the radio. It has no chips, burns or repairs. There is one small stress line on the bottom of the waterfall grill piece. The original matching white catalin marbleized knobs are perfect. The dial plastic is original and in great condition with very little yellowing and is clear. This stylized Art Deco radio features the famous "waterfall" speaker grill trim and surround "bumpers" with speed-lines that really make for a streamlined radio design. If you are looking for a great addition to your collection, please consider this beauty. This particular example is a stunning radio in excellent original condition with no chips, dings, scratches, or repairs on the cabinet. Highly marbleized cabinet has one small hairline crack hidden under the right white trim piece. This is not noticeable from the exterior of the radio as it is completely covered by the trim. It can only be seen when looking in from the back of the radio. In no way does this detract from the radio. The creamy white Plaskon trim is complete and factory original to the radio and has no chips, burns or repairs. The original matching marbleized knobs are also perfect. The chassis seems complete and still has its original color coordinated dial scale. The dial plastic is original and in great condition with very little yellowing and clear. This model was never meant to have a back, as the screw holes were never drilled at the factory. Has left over glue residue on the bottom where manufactures label was originally placed. Radio measures approximately 10.25" wide x 6" high x 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete.
