Rare Art Deco Perfect FADA 1000 Open Face Catalin Radio in Onyx with Yellow

All original FADA "Open Face Bullet" Streamliner radio Model 1000 in Onyx + Butterscotch Catalin. The "open face" Bullet model is seldom seen + is rare, as production was low. This radio styling epitomizes 1940's Streamline design with its sleek rounded lines that suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the "Bullet" are the best-known models.

The beautiful onyx Catalin cabinet has faint dark brown + orange marbleizing and a beautiful transparency with the butterscotch trim, which, adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Bullet Streamliner model. This onyx + yellow FADA 1000 has no cracks, chips, nicks, repairs, or tube burns. Radio has original trim, early gold + silver fabric grill cloth, and back panel all in great condition. The Art Deco gold "Gemloid" dial face is bright and has no paint wear. Clear dial plastic cover is a replacement.

Radio measures approximately: 10.25" Wide by 5.5" Deep by 6.5" High. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
