Charles + Ray Eames

American  [1907-1978 + 1912-1988]

Charles + Ray Eames The husband-and-wife team of Charles and Ray Eames are widely regarded as America's most important 20th Century designers. Perhaps best remembered for their mid-century plywood and fiberglass furniture, the Eames Office also applied their talents to devising ingenious variety of other products, from molded wood splints for wounded military during World War II, to photography, interiors, radios, multi-media exhibits, graphics, games, children's toys and such iconic mid-20th century Los Angeles buildings as the Eames House and Entenza House in Pacific Palisades. Their collaboration with Herman Miller Furniture Company in the late 1940's proved to be prolific and brought us numerous iconic furniture pieces such as the Eames Lounge Chair and molded plywood chairs.
