Sharp Incredibly Marbleized Oxblood w/ Yellow Trim DeWald 'Harp'

Intensely marbleized oxblood red case with butterscotch trim Catalin DeWald model A-501 'Lyre' is a magnificent, exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio. Manufactured in 1938 by DeWald Radio Mfg Corp, out of New York. This stunning model has to be one of the most musically inspired radio designs and because of this has become known to collectors as the 'Lyre' or 'Harp' DeWald.

The Catalin has a deep rich color, and glow and also has exceptionally striking yellow and orange colorful marbleizing that looks like veins of fire running through the cabinet. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this DeWald model.

This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The butterscotch pinwheel knobs are original to the radio. The radio retains its original reverse painted curved dial glass also in excellent condition + the gold herringbone pattern grill cloth shows only a small amount of wear. Cardboard back panel and part of manufacturers sticker are still present. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition.

This radio measures approximately: 9.75" wide by 6.25" high by 5.5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
