Stunning Incredibly Marbleized Oxblood w/ Yellow Trim DeWald 'Harp'

Ref: RA624

Beautifully marbleized oxblood red case with butterscotch trim Catalin DeWald model A-501 'Harp' is a magnificent, exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio. Manufactured circa 1940s by DeWald Radio Mfg Corp, out of New York. This stunning model has to be one of the most musically inspired radio designs and because of this has become known to collectors as the 'Lyre' or 'Harp' DeWald.

The Catalin has a deep shine, rich color, and glow and also has striking colorful yellow and orange marbleizing that look like veins of fire running through the cabinet. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this DeWald model.

This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The butterscotch pinwheel knobs are original to the radio and they still have the original felt behind them to protect cabinet. The radio retains its original rare beige/red reverse painted curved dial glass also in excellent condition + the gold herringbone pattern grill cloth showing only a small amount of wear. Cardboard back panel and manufacturers sticker are still present. Radio has been well taken care of and only shows some fine scratches consistent with age + careful use. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition that would make for a great addition to any radio or Art Deco collection.

This radio measures approximately: 9.75" wide by 6.25" high by 5.5" deep. This chassis of this set is sold "as-is + non-working", the chassis seems complete, when powered up all it did was a loud hum. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
