Emerson AX-235 "Little Miracle" Catalin Radio in Lapis Lazuli Blue
Seldom Seen Blue + Ivory Emerson Little Miracle
Ref: RA236
Emerson AX-235 "Little-Miracle" Catalin Radio in a rare highly marbleized lapis lazuli blue. Manufactured in 1938 by Emerson Radio + Television this is Emerson's first example of a small Catalin table radio that also features a unique louvered insert grill. This stunning radio has taken on a beautiful rich bluish-green patina which is only accentuated by the streaks of yellow that run throughout the cabinet adding depth to a great radio. The small size of this radio combined with the great color and contrasting trim really makes for a stunning Art Deco radio.
The beautiful Lapis Lazuli cabinet was professionally repaired by Dan Blake and has been in my personal collection. Repair can only be detected when looking at inside of cabinet. This models fragile ivory plastic grill + knobs that are prone to deterioration have been replaced with correct replacements. Water-slide decal, clear dial plastic and back panel are correct replacements.
Radio measures approximately: 8.85" wide by 5.25" high by 3.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete, cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
