Emerson BT-245 Catalin 'Tombstone' Radio in Marbleized Blue
Great Blue Catalin 1938 Emerson Tombstone Radio
Ref: RA599
Beautiful Emerson BT-245 Catalin 'Tombstone' radio from 1938 in a beautifully marbleized blue cabinet. This radio is absolutely beautiful + seldom found in this color. The lapis lazuli blue swirled Catalin has taken on a warm dark blueish-green patina. The cabinet is marbleized with tones of light yellow, clear + blue that add depth to an already beautiful radio. The rich deep blue color is brought out even more with its contrasting ivory louvered grill + knobs. The radio is a great example of this Emerson 'Tombstone' model.
Radio cabinet has been polished + has an incredible gloss. Radio cabinet has no cracks, chips or repairs; however it does have a mild tube burn on top that blends well with the bluish-green patina. This models fragile plastic grill and knobs, which are prone to deterioration, have been replaced with correct replacements. Water-slide decal and dial plastic are correct replacements. Cabinet has small scratches consistent with age and use
Radio measures approximately: 7" wide by 10" high by 5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
