Rare Original Jet Black + Orange "Halloween" Emerson Little Miracle

Jet Black Catalin with Orange Trim Emerson AX-235 "Little-Miracle" Radio.  Collectors refer to this rare color combination as the “Halloween Radio”. This is among the rarest Catalin radios manufactured.  Made in 1938 by Emerson Radio + Television is Emerson's first example of a small Catalin radio that also features a unique louvered insert grill. The small size of this radio combined with the great color and contrasting trim really makes for a stunning Art Deco radio.

The Orange grill and black knobs are original to the radio.  The Jet Black cabinet was professionally repaired by Dan Blake over 18yrs ago and has been in my personal collection since.  Repairs can only been seen when looking for them or looking at inside of cabinet. This models fragile plastic grill & knobs which are prone to deterioration are original and in good condition showing only a very mild warp, deterioration + shrinkage on the grill.  Original black knobs are perfect.  Water-slide decal + dial plastic are correct replacements.

Radio measures approximately: 8.85" wide by 5.25" high by 3.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete, cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
