Emerson Radio & Television, Co. created several Catalin radios in quite diverse + interesting designs. Designers for Emerson included Norman Bel Geddes for the 1940 "Patriot", Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky for the Mae West + several other Art Deco wood Ingraham cabinet radios.
The Catalin models produced by Emerson include the 1937 AU-190 "Tombstone" available in 6 colors, the 1938 AX-235 "Little Miracle" which was available in 6 colors including the elusive Black with Orange trim, the 1938 BT-245 "Tombstone" available in 5 colors, the 1940 FC-400 "Patriot" available in 3 colors, the "Aristocrat" available in 6 colors, and finally the last Catalin radio made by Emerson the 520.

Lemon Yellow Catalin Emerson BM-258 radio known as the 'Big Miracle' with black trim. Made by Emerson Radio + Television in 1938 the Big Miracle is a slightly larger version of the Little Miracle. The cabinet is a light yellow with marbleizing and transparency that really adds depth to the cabinet. The light yellow color is brought out with its contrasting black louvered grill + knobs. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a great example of this Emerson 'Big Miracle' model. The cabinet is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. This models fragile black plastic grill + knobs which, are prone to deterioration, are original + good condition showing some mild warp and wear on the grill. Radio retains the color coordinated bottom cardboard panel that is not often present. Dial plastic and decal are correct replacements. The ebony catalin has green/baby blue marbleizing that makes this unusual colored radio stand out. The trim (knobs, handle, grill and pointer) unlike other Aristocrat models is jet black and not brown. This is a seldom seen color combination for this model. Beautiful Bright Red Catalin Art Deco Emerson 'Patriot' model FC-400 designed in 1940 by industrial designer Norman Bel Geddes. With war looming over Europe and becoming an increasing threat to the USA, this radio's theme struck a chord with American radio buyers, who turned it into a best seller for Emerson. Bel Geddes sought to promote American technology, industry, and identity, through the use of the stars-and-stripes design of the radio. This 'Patriot' design in turn helped bolster national pride during the difficult years of the Great Depression. Exceedingly Rare Maroon Emerson Little Miracle
This ultra rare maroon Emerson AX-235 'Little-Miracle' Catalin Radio with black trim. Manufactured in 1938 by Emerson Radio + Television this is Emerson's first example of a small Catalin table radio that also features a unique louvered insert grill. The maroon/merlot un-marbleized cabinet with the black tenite/plastic trim makes for a rare + striking color combination and is only one of two know to exist. The two examples that exist vary from a regular Little Miracle in 2 ways; the front edges of radio are sharp(not as rounded) and the knobs are a different style than that of other Little Miracles. The beautiful maroon/merlot cabinet has had a small hole next to right knob that has been professionally repaired years ago, this example has been in my personal collection. Repair can only be detected when looking at inside of cabinet. This models fragile plastic black grill + knobs which are prone to deterioration have been replaced with correct replacements.
