Emerson Radio & Television, Co. created several Catalin radios in quite diverse + interesting designs. Designers for Emerson included Norman Bel Geddes for the 1940 "Patriot", Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky for the Mae West + several other Art Deco wood Ingraham cabinet radios.
The Catalin models produced by Emerson include the 1937 AU-190 "Tombstone" available in 6 colors, the 1938 AX-235 "Little Miracle" which was available in 6 colors including the elusive Black with Orange trim, the 1938 BT-245 "Tombstone" available in 5 colors, the 1940 FC-400 "Patriot" available in 3 colors, the "Aristocrat" available in 6 colors, and finally the last Catalin radio made by Emerson the 520.

Emerson BM-258 'Big Miracle' Catalin radio in marbleized lapis lazuli blue with ivory trim. Made by Emerson Radio + Television in 1938 the Big Miracle is a slightly larger version of the Little Miracle. The blue cabinet has white and blue marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet. The bright blue color is brought out with its contrasting ivory louvered grill + knobs. This original seldom seen radio is just a great example of this Emerson 'Big Miracle' model. Radio cabinet has been polished back to the original lapis lazuli blue from an oxidized dark green + has an incredible gloss. Radio cabinet is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Made in 1938 by Emerson Radio + Television is Emerson's first example of a small Catalin radio that also features a unique louvered insert grill. The small size of this radio combined with the great bright color and contrasting trim really makes for a stunning Art Deco radio. This highly marbleized + bright red cabinet has no cracks, warp, tube burns or repairs; however it does have a few small chips on the inside top back rail (back panel retaining holes) this can not be seen when radio is displayed. This is a common issue with the Emerson Little Miracle and in no way does it detract from the beauty of this radio. Cabinet retains the original factory gloss and the ivory tenite/plastic trim is original to the radio. Water-slide decal is original and in perfect condition. This models fragile plastic ivory grill + knobs which are prone to deterioration have been replaced with exact color correct replacements.
