Emerson "Strad" CH-256 Ingraham cabinet tube radio
Ref: RA140
1939 Emerson "Stradivarius" model CH-256 has to be one of the most beautiful Ingraham cabinets made. The radio's elegant violin shape, sounding cutouts and grille bars that resemble the strings of a violin are unlike any other radio. Here is your chance to add this fine example of this "D" dial Emerson to your collection.
Radio has been lightly cosmetically restored back to its original beauty. Radio's original finish was not stripped. Wooden case was gently cleaned and new coat of colorless sheer gloss lacquer was applied and the dark brown/black accents were re-painted. Radio still shows some small darker spots on the wood consistent with the normal use and age. The radio was a very clean example prior to restoration, and it had no missing or chipped veneers or the wrap around inlays. The richness of the all original veneers used by Ingraham have a remarkable depth of color that is just stunning. Please view all photos to see the incredible workmanship and design of this radio.
The radio still retains its original metal Ingraham tag on the bottom and it's original Bakelite knobs. The gold painted metal dial is original and in great condition with only a small signs of age. The dial plastic has been replaced as the original had yellowed.
This small radio measures approximately: 10.5" wide by 6.25" high by 4.5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
