Rare FADA 136 Catalin Radio in Emerald Green + Yellow
Great Early Wrap-Around FADA L-56 Catalin Radio
Ref: RA859
Rare + Beautiful FADA model 136 (Fada L-56 variant) catalin radio in highly marbleized Emerald Green with yellow wrap-around grille + knobs. This Art Deco catalin model made in 1939 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. This seldom seen emerald green + yellow catalin example is a beautiful example with great swirls and vibrancy. The model 136 differs from a model L-56 in a few ways; the knobs are gumdrop shape and the dial is different and marked Fada rather than having a water-slide decal. The vibrant emerald green cabinet is highly marbleized with yellow, darker and lighter green veins.
The beautifully marbleized vibrant green cabinet is free of chips, tube burns and repairs; however it does have hairline as can be seen. Matching green handle is original and perfect. The yellow insert grill and gumdrop knobs are original to the radio and have no damage. The beautiful graphic dial is bright and in great condition. Radio retains the original paper manufacturers label affixed to the bottom designating it as a Model 136. Clear dial plastic cover is a correct replacement. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.
Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" high by 4" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
