Fada 136 Catalin Radio in Plum and Yellow - Deco Beauty
Great Early Wrap-Around FADA 136 Catalin Radio
Ref: RA894
FADA model 136 in plum/maroon with a yellow wrap-around grill, knobs + handle. This Art Deco catalin model made in 1939 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. The model 136 differs from a model L-56 in a few ways; the knobs are gumdrop shape and the dial is different and marked Fada rather than having a water-slide decal below grille. Model 136 FADAs are not seen as often as the L-56 making this a special radio.
The glossy plum catalin cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The yellow catalin grill, knobs and handle are complete + factory original to the radio and free of cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The beautiful graphic dial is bright and in great condition. Dial plastic is a correct replacement. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This is a seldom found color combination that would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.
Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" high by 4" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete, cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
