Fada 136 Catalin Radio in Yellow with Marbleized Red Grille
Great Early Wrap-Around FADA L-56 Catalin Radio
Ref: RA919
FADA model 136 catalin radio in marbleized yellow with bright red swirled wrap-around grill. This Art Deco catalin model made in 1939 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. The model 136 differs from a model L-56 in a few ways; the knobs are gumdrop shape and the dial is different and marked Fada rather than having a water-slide decal below grille. Model 136 FADAs are not seen as often as the L-56 making this a special radio. Seldom seen with a red insert grill with a yellow cabinet radio a beautiful example with beautiful marbleizing. The catalin cabinet retains the factory gloss, the red trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example. This is a great example of an all-original early FADA.
The glossy yellow catalin cabinet, handle and knobs are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The original bright red marbleized grill has no cracks, chips or repairs. The beautiful graphic model Fada 136 dial is bright and in great condition. The dial plastic is a correct replacement. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.
Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" high by 4" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
