Superb Example of this Early Rare FADA 5F50 Catalin Radio

Ref: RA937

Striking + Rare prewar Fada model 53 / 5F50 Catalin radio in bright maroon with swirled yellow insert grille + knobs. This Art Deco model made in 1938 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. This radio retains the factory gloss, the yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example.  This Merlot + Yellow color combination is seldom found in the FADA 53 model.

Catalin cabinet, insert grille + fluted knobs are original to the radio and are free of cracks, chips, tube burns and repairs. Yellow marbleized grill and knobs have a beautiful translucency that gives them an added depth. Radio retains the original gold manufacturers sticker on the bottom of the cabinet with the handwritten "MA" color designation for maroon/Alabaster next to model # and also the tube layout sticker. Clear dial plastic cover and water slide decal are correct replacements. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use. This is a great example of an early FADA.

The radio measures 7.75" wide by 5.75" high by 4.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
