FADA 5F60 Catalin Radio Onyx Green with Yellow Insert Grill
Beautiful Early Art Deco FADA 5F60 or 'Baby Fada' Catalin Radio
Ref: RA479
Fada 5F60 Catalin radio in onyx green/pea-green with a highly swirled yellow insert grill. This prewar 1936/37 is one of the earliest catalin radio models made and has a simple and distinct cabinet design. This onyx + yellow +example is in great condition with a beautiful glossy finish. This is a striking radio color combination, the faint brown, orange and yellow marbleizing adds depth to the color. This model has come to be known to collectors as the 'Baby Fada' because of its small size.
The catalin cabinet retains the factory gloss, the yellow grill adds contrast and style to this stunning example. Onyx green catalin cabinet and fluted knobs have no cracks, chips, repairs or tube burns. The highly marbleized yellow insert grill is original and has the best swirls I have seen on one of these. The grill has two tiny stress lines that can barely be seen. Clear dial plastic cover is a replacement, FADA decal is original. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use. This is a great example of an all-original early FADA.
The radio measures 7.75" wide by 5" high by 4.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
