FADA 845 "Cloud" Radio in Swirled Green Plastic with Ivory Trim
Great Color Combo in Perfect Condition
Ref: RA861
Highly swirled Green Fada 845 "Cloud" was made starting in 1946 of polystyrene plastic by the FADA Radio & Electric Co. This is an unusual cabinet design with rounded asymmetrical side edges resembling a “Cloud” when viewed head on. The green polystyrene plastic case has white, orange, clear and brown swirls that add depth to the color, contrasted nicely with the swirled ivory trim. The radio’s original reverse painted dark brown dial face is beautifully detailed with painted gold metallic numerals with white shadows. The numbers scale rotates around the dial and concentric circles make a bullseye of the FADA logo. Art deco style speed lines cross the front concealing the speaker an forming a clever cutout circular speaker cover.
Cabinet has no cracks, chips, tube burn, or repairs. The ivory marbleized plastic handle and knobs are original to the radio and are in perfect condition. The glass dial is bright and in great condition with no cracks, chips or flaking paint. This set retains it original masonite back with the manufacturers stickers and original grille cloth. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.
Measures approximately: 10.5" wide x 6.5" high x 5.5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
