FADA L-56 Catalin Radio in Heavily Marbleized Blue + Yellow
Great Early Wrap-Around FADA L-56 Catalin Radio
Ref: RA676
Stunning + Rare FADA L-56 catalin radio in highly marbleized lapis-lazuli blue with light yellow wrap-around grille + knobs. This Art Deco catalin model made in 1939 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. This seldom seen blue + yellow color is a beautiful example with great swirls and vibrancy. The bright blue cabinet has veins of white with tones of blue and green running through it that makes this an incredible example.
The glossy bright blue catalin cabinet and handle are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Radio's cabinet has been cut/polished back to its original lapis-lazuli color from it's oxidized green coloring. The marbleized light yellow insert grill and fluted knobs are original to the radio and have no damage. The beautiful graphic dial is bright and in great condition. Radio retains the original paper manufacturers label affixed to the bottom. The dial plastic + water-slide decal are correct replacements. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + use of set. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection.
Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" high by 4" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
