Stunning FADA Model F55 Catalin Radio in Emerald Green + Yellow
Rare early wrap around grill FADA Catalin Radio
Ref: RA642
Stunning + Rare FADA F55 in highly marbleized Emerald Green with yellow wrap-around grille and knobs. This Art Deco model made in 1938 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. The vibrant emerald green cabinet is beautifully marbleized with yellow, darker and lighter green veins.
The vibrant green catalin cabinet is free of chips, tube burns or repairs; however it does have three small hairline cracks, Two of the hairlines are located on the bottom of the cabinet and can not bee seen when displayed, the third one is coming off the bottom left corner of the grill opening and is difficult to see as it blends nicely with the deep green color and swirls and is smooth. These small defects in no way take away from the beauty and rarity of this radio. The marbleized yellow insert grill and fluted knobs are original to the radio and have no damage. Radio retains the original manufacturers sticker affixed to the bottom with the "GA" designation for green + alabaster. Clear dial plastic cover and water-slide decal are correct replacements. This beautiful FADA has been well taken care of and has very few small scratches consistent with light use. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection
Radio measures approximately: 9" wide by 5.5" high by 4" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
