Rare + unusual Garod 1450 'Peak-Top' Catalin shortwave radio in butterscotch with bright red marbleized trim. The catalin cabinet has a deep shine that makes its rich color glow and shows off the exceptionally striking marbleized red catalin trim. The graphic Art Deco sunburst gold, black + red shortwave dial scale list European countries and cities. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Garod model. This model radio is seldom seen in colors other than all butterscotch and in this fine of a condition.
This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, tube burns or repairs to the catalin cabinet or trim. Radio Cabinet has on the inside bottom rear left back rail (back panel retaining hole) a very small chip that can not be seen when displayed. Knobs have been machined from original catalin to the exact specs as original. The radio retains its original textured gold grill cloth which has no tears and only a small amount of wear. Cabinet retains the original manufactures paper label is still affixed to the bottom of cabinet. Water-slide decal + dial plastic are correct replacements. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition.
This stately radio measures approximately: 10.5" Wide by 8" High by 5.85" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
