General Television + Radio Corp. only made one model in Catalin, the #591 which was available in 3 color cobinations all with ivory Tenite trim: oxblood red, yellow + green/turquoise. This Art Deco radio model is very difficult to find in Catalin. This style was popular and was also made in other materials such as Bakelite with colored Tenite trim.

Catalin General Television Radio Model 591 - Yellow with Ivory Trim
Highly Marbliezed Catalin General Television Radio
Stunning + Rare Yellow Catalin General Television radio 591, with beautiful contrasting ivory handle, grill, knobs, and dial face frame. Made by General Television Radio Corp of Chicago, Illinois, model 591 is the only Catalin model made by the company. The cabinet on the Catalin GTV has great swirls + clear that add depth to the radio. The gold face features a stunning textured deco pattern, with a red Saturn shaped station indicator, beneath which "General Television" appears. The radio is in original, untouched condition, with a beautiful and natural gloss and is just a superb example of this General Television radio. Cabinet is in perfect condition with no crack, chips, repairs or tube burns. The ivory polystyrene trim is complete and original to the radio and has no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The gold dial is original and in great condition. The dial plastic is also original and in great condition. Radio retains its original cardboard back and manufacturer's label affixed to the chassis Radio measures approximately: 8.75" Wide, 5.5" Deep, and 7" Tall to the top of the handle. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete, original cord is cracked and should be replaced. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.

Made in mid 1940's by General Television Radio Corp of Chicago, Illinois, model 5A5. The gold face features a stunning textured deco sunburst pattern, with a gold Saturn shaped station indicator, beneath which "General Television" appears. The radio is in original, untouched condition, with a beautiful and natural gloss and is just a superb example of this General Television radio. The beautiful Tenite Bakelite cabinet and ivory polystyrene trim is in incredible original condition. Cabinet + trim have no cracks, chips, or repairs. Cabinet has minor heat stress-lines + mold marks which are a common occurrence for this material, color + model. The ivory polystyrene trim is complete and original to the radio and has no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The gold dial is original and in great condition. The dial plastic is also original and in great condition. Radio retains its original cardboard back with manufacturer's information imprinted. Cabinet has a small heat crazing/burn on the top right side common occurrence for this color and model. Radio has been well taken care of and only shows some fine scratches consistent with light careful use. The gold dial is original and in great condition. The dial plastic is original and in great condition with very little yellowing and is clear. Radio measures approximately: 8.85 wide by 7.5" high to the top of the handle by 5.5" deep.
