George Nelson

American  [1908-1986] 

George Nelson George Nelson was one of the most influential figures in the development of design in the USA. Nelson left to study in Europe and came back with an architecture and writing knowledge that few possessed at a time when design was changing. Nelson worked as director of design for Herman Miller from 1944 through the mid-1960's.

His most notable designs include the Coconut Chair, Marshmallow Sofa, CSS Shelving System, Swag Leg Chair and Desk and numerous table and wall Clocks.
