Gilbert Rohde Herman Miller 6331 Clock in Walnut
Art Deco Round Gilbert Rohde Clock
Ref: CL151
Gilbert Rohde designed small Art Deco solid walnut electric clock model # 6331 manufactured by the Herman Miller Clock Company ca. 1933. This clock is an exceptionally clean, moderne design by Gilbert Rohde. The case is solid walnut, with black base, silver dial and black hour markers highlighted by a red second hand. The front bezel of clock curves outwards from the convex clock glass. Art Deco elements are at the very heart of this model's design.
The condition of this clock can only be described as near mint. Wood case has been refinished and looks great with a beautiful luster that highlights the original veining of the walnut. The silver dial is lithographed with black deco numerals and imprinted “Herman Miller with logo” and is in great original condition.
An example of this model clock is on exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum
The small clock measures approximately: 4" wide by 4" high and 2" deep. The clock is fitted with the original self-starting electric movement. Cord has been replaced but clock is not currently working; motor makes noise and try to spin. If you wish to use it daily, it is recommended you have a qualified professional service it, as it may need lubrication and calibration.
