Scarce Lyra-Tone (Garod) 1450 'Peak-Top' Catalin radio in highly marbleized tortoise brown with translucent amber/tortoise trim. The tortoise catalin has a deep shine that makes the color glow and show off exceptionally striking and colorful, yellow + orange marbleizing. The combo of the tortoise brown cabinet and the exceptionally striking translucent tortoise catalin trim makes for a spectacular radio. This radio is an original stunning example of this Lyra-Tone model. This model radio is seldom seen in any color combination.
This beautiful set is in great condition with no chips or tube burns to the catalin cabinet or trim; however it does have a repair on the bottom left corner of cabinet adjacent to the grill trim that is virtually undetectable. The radio retains its original translucent catalin knobs, grill + handle all in perfect condition, free of any defects. Radio still has its original 'Lyra-Tone' water-slide decal with a wonderful graphic of a Lyre in the middle. The radio retains its original textured gold grill cloth which has no tears or stains. Cabinet retains the original manufactures paper label still affixed to the bottom of cabinet. Dial plastic are correct replacements. This is truly a remarkable radio.
This stately radio measures approximately: 10.5" Wide by 8" High by 5.85" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
