General Electric L-570 Catalin radio in alabaster with maroon trim. The L-570 series made in 1941 is one of only two Catalin radios ever manufactured by General Electric. The design of this radio while boxy has numerous Art Deco elements such as the insert louvered grill and semi-circle handle. The catalin has a deep shine + gloss, rich color, glow, and luminosity. This great radio would make a great addition to any radio or Art Deco collection. This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs to the cabinet or trim. Radio has been cut/polished back to its factory original alabaster color. The plum/maroon catalin trim is original to the radio and is also perfect with no chips, cracks or repairs. Seldom Seen Model in a Great Color Combo
Wonderful Deco Machine Age RCA Victor model 9-SX Radio known as the 'Little Nipper' in marbleized Beetle Plastic. This 1939 model is an incredibly well designed streamlined tube radio. This rare little set is highlighted by its green + orange marbleizing. This little radio is constructed of 3 separate plaskon Bakelite pieces, first is the red plaskon body, second is the ivory Plaskon wrap-around deco grill with the great RCA Victor logo engraved vertically on the rounded corner, and third + lastly is the top plaskon stepped trim piece. Even though these midget sized radios were popular in their time and offered in many color combinations, they have become hard to find in any combination due to its fragile plaskon case. Radio is in great original condition + has a beautiful luster to the cabinet and all original trim. Cabinet has no cracks, tube burns or repair to cabinet. Matching Beetle wrap-around grille and top trim have no damage as well. Radio has the original red knobs and the original matching rear red knob that are free of any damage. The fragile plastic dial is original and and dial scale decal is a correct replacement, and part of back panel. Deco Federal 159 'Circle' Walnut Radio - Simple Elegant Design
Seldom Seen Round Wood Radio Model
Great small Federal 159 'Circle' 1937/38 radio in a beautiful finely grained book-matched walnut veneers with black edge detail. Unusual modern radio for its time was advertised as "beautiful and graceful---yet striking in appearance" due to its circular design combined and small size. The simple cabinet is highlighted by a large round dial face trimmed in brass and two ball brass/gold feet. Circular radios were only manufactured by a few brand names during the late 1930's; thus making it d difficult design to acquire. This radio design can also be found branded as a Silver with a different dial scale and label; see original advertisement. The radios cabinet has recently been refinished and it is stunning. Radio was carefully restored to match the original toning that accentuates the round design. Radio retains its original 3 brown bullet shaped knobs, brass bezel, metal ball feet, dial plastic and back panel. Federal decal is a correct replacement. The gold face features a stunning textured deco sunburst pattern, with a gold Saturn shaped station indicator, beneath which 'General Television' appears. Made by General Television Radio Corp of Chicago, Illinois, model 591 is the only catalin model made by the company. The cabinet on the catalin GTV has great clear and yellow swirls that add depth to the radio. The GTV 591 is the only catalin were the back edge of the cabinet is slightly rounded to match the front contour......this gives the design a great soft pillowy effect. Rare + Beautiful Machine Age Deco Pacific 'Air Cruiser' Radio Model 100. Designed in 1936 by Joseph Price for the Pacific Radio Corporation out of Chicago, Illinois. This radio is among the most streamlined Art Deco radios to be found. The design is a refreshing, futuristic departure from the heavy ornate cabinets of the time. The cabinet is a dynamic downward swooping shape accentuated by four lateral side fins that evoke movement + speed. The teardrop design and fins reminds me of the design used on indoor speed cycling helmets.....really aerodynamic. The set has a great 'sailing ship' dial which only adds to its exciting design making the radio look like it is in motion, almost "cruising" along. Only the 4rd example that I have seen. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the 'Courthouse' or 'Large' Addison. Pistachio catalin was only used by four radio manufacturers of the time and is therefore an uncommon find.The pistachio green catalin cabinet has a glossy deep rich color, glow and also has exceptional, clear, white + green marbleizing that add dimension to the radio. Beautiful marbled Yellow with Brown trim Art Deco 1941 Emerson EP-375 '5+1' Catalin radio. This art deco radio was manufactured by Emerson Radio & Television in 1941. This model has become known to collectors as the 5+1 due to the unique insert grill bar layout. This original radio has taken on a beautiful rich warm yellow patina accentuated by streaks of yellow + clear that run throughout the cabinet that makes the radio stand out from others. Beautiful marbleized catalin cabinet has no cracks, chips, burns or repairs. The Emerson water-slide decal, dial plastic and back panel, brown plastic grille bars and knobs are correct replacements. Polar White Catalin Art Deco Emerson 'Patriot' Radio model FC-400 designed in 1940 by industrial designer Norman Bel Geddes. With war looming over Europe and becoming an increasing threat to the USA, this radio's theme struck a chord with American radio buyers, who turned it into a best seller for Emerson. Bel Geddes sought to promote American technology, industry, and identity, through the use of the stars-and-stripes design of the radio. This "Patriot" design in turn helped bolster national pride during the difficult years of the Great Depression. The bright white Catalin cabinet has been cut/polished back to its original factory color by me and has a beautiful gloss. Radio cabinet is in perfect condition with no cracks, chips, burn or repairs. This model's fragile tenite/plastic grill, which is prone to deterioration, is original and in beautiful condition showing only a mild signs of age. Blue plastic 'Star' knobs and matching handle, Emerson decal and dial plastic are correct replacements. Radio has small scratches, scuffs consistent with age + use of set.
