The catalin case has a deep shine that makes its rich yellow color glow. This Fada radio has no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs to the beautiful catalin cabinet. The ivory swirled plastic handle + knobs are original and are in excellent condition. The bright and colorful FADA "Gemloid" sunburst dial face is also in great original condition with only slight wear. Radio retains the original masonite back panel + manufacturers sticker affixed to the bottom. Dial plastic is original and grill mesh has been re-flocked back to its original state. This model was one of three new designs for the postwar period. The original yellow catalin, which has taken on a beautiful patina with age and is highlighted with the bright red trim. The glossy yellow cabinet has no cracks, chips, tube burns, or repairs. It is uncommon to find a Fada model 700 in perfect condition as they are prone to damage. Wonderful Art Deco model made in 1938 by FADA Radio + Electric Company has a beautiful design and size. This yellow and red example is all-original and in great condition with a beautiful glossy finish. The catalin cabinet retains the factory gloss, the red trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example. The faintly marbleized cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs; it does have chip on the inside of cabinet where the back panel would have attached....this in no way takes away from this great radio as it is not visible when displayed. Seldom Seen Model in a Great Color Combo
Deco Machine Age RCA Victor Radio known as the 'Little Nipper' 9-SX in bright red plaskon with an ivory Plaskon grille. This 1939 model is an incredibly well designed streamlined tube radio designed by John Vassos. This little radio is constructed of 3 separate plaskon Bakelite pieces, first is the red plaskon body, second is the ivory Plaskon wrap-around deco grill with the great RCA Victor logo engraved vertically on the rounded corner, and third + lastly is the top plaskon stepped trim piece. Even though these midget sized radios were popular in their time and offered in many color combinations, they have become hard to find in any combination due to its fragile plaskon case. Cabinet has no cracks, burns or repair; however it does have the typical hairline crack on the bottom rear screw hole as visible in photo. Ivory Plaskon Wrap-Grille grille has no damage. Radio has the original red knobs that are free of any damage. The fragile plastic dial is original and and dial scale decal is a correct replacement, radio retains original matching rear red knob. The 1937 Emerson A-148 radio has to be one of the finest Ingraham cabinets made with it's beautiful book matched veneer, black trim, splined corners, with a graceful lean on its matching cradle. The richness of the all original veneers used by Ingraham have a remarkable of depth of color that is just stunning. This E. Ingraham Company of Bristol, Connecticut made cabinet for Emerson Radio is rarely seen example. Please view all photos to see the incredible workmanship and design of this radio. The 200 Series differs from the Model 1000 in that it has specific sharp-edge gumdrop knobs, different grill cloth, dial face with different numbering + triangular station markers and dial pointer with an orange plastic center. This radios styling epitomizes 1940's Streamline design with its sleek rounded lines that suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the 'Bullet' are the best-known models. Designed in 1946, this radio is comprised of 3 separate catalin pieces setting it apart from other radios of the time. The green cabinet and the front of the cabinet consists of two colors, the green insert grille and the yellow surround, both cast separately which are fastened to the yellow cabinet. It is believed that the front surround + the large attached grill are among the largest cast catalin parts ever made. The beautifully marbleized jade green catalin cabinet is contrasted with the yellow trim. Bendix 526C Catalin radio in a beautiful marbleized bright jadeite green with bluish-turquoise tones and black Catalin. This Art Deco Bendix Tube Radio made circa 1946 is extremely stylish with the marbleized green cabinet and contrasting black front, a color combination only found on this model catalin radio. This has to be one of the best example that I have owned. The Art Deco styling of this model is stylish + solid. The contrasting black Catalin front brings the green, bluish, white and clear tones alive. This model radio incorporates both a unique design + construction. The swirled green catalin top + sides are molded into one U-shaped piece that fits down over the black catalin piece which forms the front and base of the radio The two rounded corner pieces that bolt onto either side of the dial are a unique feature unlike anything found on any other radio. Radio is in beautiful condition and has a beautiful gloss that shows off the vivid marbleized color. Radio has been cut/polished back to its factory original color. Cabinet and trim are in very perfect original condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Radio retains its original matching knobs, back panel and manufacturer's sticker affixed to the bottom. The original and less common green and ivory dial plastic is also in perfect condition. This radio would make for a beautiful addition to a collection. Radio measures approximately 11" Wide x 7" High x 6" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete; cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
