Rare AMC (Garod) 126 '3-Ring' Catalin radio in a merlot/maroon with butterscotch trim. This radio is gets it nickname from the intricate design of the 3 interlocking rings in the grill. The catalin cabinet has a deep shine that makes its rich color glow and shows off the striking butterscotch catalin trim. This model radio is seldom seen in colors other than all butterscotch and in this fine of a condition. This beautiful set is in great condition with no chips or tube burns to the catalin cabinet; however cabinet has a small tight hairline coming from under the grill trim on the bottom right corner that is difficult to see. Rarely seen Namco model 601 Catalin Radio in marbleized butterscotch with original translucent ivory tenite knobs. Manufactured by N.M.Co. NYC, this mid to late 1930's is among the rarest of the catalin radios to be found. This relatively small catalin radio has unique design details such as deep horizontal grooves/louvers that travel around the entire radio and a carved curved handle. This radio is as close to perfect as one can be found as this model radio is often found heavily damaged due to the manufacturing process/grooves. The catalin case has spectacular marbleizing and has been cut/polished back to its original factory color of bright blue with white swirls. The beautiful glossy marbleized catalin cabinet + handle are perfect with no cracks, chips, or repairs; has a very mild tube burn darkening that blends well. Radio has original tan plastic knobs. The fragile grill bars that are prone to damage and deterioration are correct replacements. Dial plastic and water-slide decal are correct replacements Radio measures approximately: 9.5" wide by 5.75" high by 4.75" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
