Stunning + Rare Example 200 Series Blue FADA Bullet

Rarely seen FADA 'Bullet' 200 Series in Blue with Butterscotch Catalin radio with incredible intense marbling - this is a beautiful + original Art Deco radio. The bluish-green patina on this radio is beautiful - radio has only been lightly polished to a high gloss. The green(blue) colored cabinet has intense veins of yellow with tones of blue running through it that makes this an incredible example. The 200 Series differs from the Model 1000 in that it has specific sharp-edge gumdrop knobs, different grill cloth, dial face with different numbering + triangular station markers and dial pointer with an orange plastic center. This radio styling epitomizes 1940's Streamline design with its sleek rounded lines that suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from those years. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the 'Bullet' are the best-known models. The glossy Catalin cabinet is perfect with no cracks, chips or repairs and has beautiful intense marbleizing that really adds depth to the cabinet. The yellow trim with its 200 Series sharp edged gumdrop knobs, bezel and handle are original to the radio. Radio retains the original gold and silver 200 Series grill cloth in great condition. The 200 Series gold 'gemloid' dial face with different numbering + triangular station markers is different from the standard Model 1000. Sparton 558-B radio in blue mirror designed by Walter Dorwin Teague for the Sparks-Worthington Company from Jackson, Michigan in 1937. The radio, known as the 'sled' or '4-knob' is a considered to be one of the best examples of Deco Streamline style. The radio features etched blue mirrors on the front, top and left side, with crystalline finish ebony lacquer finish and 5 chrome fins or "speed lines". The original marbleized yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a seldom found Pre-War FADA 115 Bullet model. The model 115 differs from its postwar counterpart, in that it has the smooth 'gumdrop' knobs, a split dial face with what looks like a large Roman numeral through the center of it and a copper foil grill cloth that is installed vertically. The glossy onyx catalin cabinet is highlighted by some orange, clear + yellow marbleizing and a beautiful transparency. The yellow trim adds contrast and style to this stunning example of a FADA Bullet Streamliner model. The cabinet on this onyx and yellow FADA 115 has no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. Radio cabinet has been polished back to its factory original onyx color from its oxidized caramel coloring. The yellow catalin dial ring, gumdrop knobs and handle are original + correct to the radio and also in great condition with no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. The correct copper foil grill cloth is in great original condition. The fragile paper + gold foil dial face is in great condition with only minimal wear. Radio retains the original cardboard back panel with FA-DA-SCOPE label. The dial plastic cover is a replacement. This radio is as clean as one can be found and would truly make a great addition to any radio or Deco collection. Radio measures approximately: 10.25" wide by 6.25" high by 5.5" deep. Stunning Art Deco Sparton 'Bluebird' cobalt blue mirror model 566 radio with factory original matching plateau designed by Walter Dorwin Teague for the Sparks-Worthington Company from Jackson, Michigan in 1936. The radio, known as the 'Bluebird' is a considered to be a great example of Deco Streamline style. The radio features a 14" cobalt blue mirror disc, with contrasting ebony lacquer ball feet finished with and 3 chromed bands or 'speed lines' dissecting the circular speaker + dial surround. The symmetric, geometric shapes and accent designs are distinctively art deco in appearance. The display plateau is an original Sparton add-on item that was offered at the time of purchase for an additional cost; please see photo of original advertising. The cobalt blue mirror measures the same size as the radio mirror 14" and is the same color. This original Sparton mirror is untouched, free of cracks, chips and has not been re-silvered; so it does show some wear and scratches The black felt on back of mirror plateau is also original. Included with the radio and plateau is a letter from original owners explaining that the radio was purchased with the plateau back in the day. Radio is in great condition and is free of chips, or cracks to the original cobalt mirror. Wood body and ball feet have original ebony lacquer in good condition. Chrome trim, knobs and back panel are original to the radio. Mirror was at some point re-silvered and chrome re-plated. Grill cloth is a period correct replacement. Onyx Green Catalin Emerson model 564 'Slot-Grill'. This is a magnificent small Art Deco radio that features a vertical slide rule dial + a series of symmetrical grill cut-outs. Emerson Radio & Phonograph Corp, out of New York, manufactured this small Catalin radio in 1940. The catalin has a beautiful gloss and is just a stunning example of this Emerson model that is highlighted by the reddish, yellow and lighter onyx green swirls. This beautiful set is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The maroon catalin knobs are original to the radio. The radio retains its original reverse painted dial plastic and reddish/maroon textured grill cloth both in excellent condition. Cardboard back panel is still present and in nice condition. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition. Water-slide decal is a replacement. Radio has small scratches consistent with age + careful use.
