Sonora Radio
Chicago, Ilinois [1913-1957]
Sonora Radio + Television Corp of Chicago, Illinois started off as a clock maker which somehow led to phonographs + finally to radios. As radio manufacturers they made numerous style radios in wood, bakelite and one catalin model the Coronet KM. The 1941 Coronet KM was available in 3 color combinations: Alabaster/Onyx Green, Alabaster/Plum and Alabaster/Pastel Blue. Today they are all quite difficult to find and are highly regarded by collectors.
Some Coronets were sold to Allied Radio Corp and branded "KNIGHT" with a gold foil logo affixed to the front of the cabinet. These "Knight" branded radios are rarely found.
** We are always looking to buy Sonora + Knight Catalin Radios as well as other Catalin, Plaskon + Bakelite radios by any manufacturer. Please contact us if you are looking to sell a radio. Calls are always welcome: 305.778.2182 **
