Rare Art Deco Metal Case Radio with Silhouetted Lady's Face

Rare Stewart Warner Radio R108X "Lady's Head" in jet black with silver accents. Manufactured in 1933 by the Stewart Warner Corporation. This small metal case radio is among the rarest of Art Deco radios to be found. The Silhouette on the front of the radio is the embodiment of the roaring 1920s flapper style. The "Lady's Head" radio was made in silver/black or the minimally produced black/silver making it the rarest.

Radio is untouched and in great condition showing some signs of wear, corrosion to the paint consistent with age + use.  The silver round painted knobs as well as is the silver metal mesh grill cloth are original to the radio.  Radio is complete with original metal back panel and Alemite Corporation sticker still affixed to the bottom of cabinet + rear of the chassis. Philip Collins features an example of this radio on page 16 of the book "Radios of The Golden Age".

Measures approximately: 7.62" wide x 7" high x 4.5" deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete, cord is tucked inside. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician.
