Superb marbleized oxblood red case and yellow trim Catalin Addison Model 5 is a magnificent, exquisitely crafted Art Deco radio. Manufactured in the 1940's by ADDISON INDUSTRIES LIMITED in Toronto, Canada also known to collectors as the 'Courthouse' or 'Large' Addison. The catalin has a deep shine, rich color and glow and also has exceptionally striking yellow, orange and red marbleizing that look like veins of fire running through the cabinet. The radio is in original, untouched condition, and is just a stunning example of this Addison model.
The beautiful glossy cabinet is in great condition with no cracks, chips, tube burns or repairs. The five light yellow vertical grill bars are original to the radio as are the three matching pinwheel knobs. The grill cloth is original and in great condition with strong color. Radio retains the original manufacturers sticker affixed to bottom of cabinet. Beautiful reverse painted dial glass + water-slide decal are correct replacements. This is truly a remarkable radio in excellent condition that would make a fantastic addition to a collection.
This stately radio measures approximately: 12.5" Wide by 9" High by 7" Deep. This set is sold "as-is + untested", the chassis seems complete; cord is cut. Set is being sold as a "non-working" vintage electronic device that should be gone over by a qualified technician prior to use.
